Apple is about to surpass Samsung to become the world’s largest smartphone brand.
The top position in the global smartphone market share is very likely to shift to Apple with the launch of the iPhone 15 series.
According to the latest report from Ming-Chi Kuo, a leading Apple analyst and insider, it has been revealed that with the launch of the iPhone 15 series, Apple is poised to surpass Samsung and become the leading company in the global smartphone market share.
On the Media publishing platform, Ming-Chi Kuo stated that Samsung’s smartphone shipment has been reduced to 220 million units in the year 2023. Meanwhile, Apple is on track to produce around 220-225 million units in 2023. This will help Apple surpass its South Korean competitor this year.
Furthermore, this analyst predicts that Apple’s “overtaking” is expected to continue into the following year, 2024. Apple aims to manufacture an additional 25 million smartphones next year, totaling 250 million iPhones produced.
“Samsung’s internal perspective on market demand for 2024 remains cautious. Therefore, Apple may still be the largest smartphone brand in 2024,” noted Mr. Ming-Chi Kuo.
Previously, according to the global smartphone market share data for Q1 2023 by Counterpoint, the gap between Apple and Samsung was only 1%. Therefore, the possibility of Apple surpassing Samsung in a scenario where the competitor faces significant challenges is quite understandable.
