Discover the Uniquely Translucent-Colored Beats Studio Buds+ Box
During our recent trip to the WWDC 2023 event, we came across a newly launched and remarkably unique product in terms of its exterior design: the translucent version of Beats Studio Buds+, a fully wireless (True Wireless) earbuds.
Since joining forces with Apple, the packaging design of Beats headphones has become simpler and less colorful, bearing the influence of Apple’s product aesthetic. Even the previously vibrant red logo of the brand has now been transformed into a more subtle shade of gray.
The product we purchased is priced at $169.99.
Upon opening the box, we find an instruction manual, a USB Type-C charging cable, and three sets of white ear tips.
The most distinctive feature of these earbuds, which I’m sure you have noticed as well, is that all the plastic details are made translucent (with a slight frosted finish), allowing us to clearly see the internal components.
From this angle, we can observe the hinge mechanism of the charging case and even the battery itself. As announced, the earbuds can provide up to 9 hours of usage time and can be extended to 36 hours when used in conjunction with this charging case, which is quite impressive considering its compact size. Additionally, it features Fast Fuel technology for quick charging, allowing for 1 hour of usage after just 5 minutes of charging.
On the bottom edge, there is a USB Type-C charging port with an orange rubber gasket, which adds a distinct visual difference.
The design style of “revealing the components” continues on the earpiece itself.
Indeed, the Studio Buds+ can be described as incredibly compact, almost like taking a pair of AirPods Pro and removing the stems! Instead of touch controls, these earbuds utilize traditional physical buttons for operation.
One notable downside is that the earbuds lack proximity sensors, which means they cannot automatically pause the music when taken out of the ears.
The earbuds have an IPX4 water resistance rating, which means they can withstand sweat and light rain to support activities like exercising and sports. However, they are not suitable for submerging in water.
Being a product under the Apple ecosystem, the Studio Buds+ come equipped with intelligent features, including quick device pairing with Apple devices when the case is opened, adjustable ANC (Active Noise Cancellation), Transparency mode for environmental listening, and the ability to customize button functions directly within iOS. Additionally, they also support fast device switching. Moreover, the earbuds also feature Google Fast Pair, allowing for easy connectivity with Android smartphones.
Based on our experience with the Studio Buds+ sound quality, we noticed a transition in the Beats’ audio tuning. The earbuds no longer emphasize heavy bass as previous generations did but rather focus more on the treble frequencies. This, combined with a comfortable fit, provides a “gentler” music listening experience that can be enjoyed for extended periods without feeling burdensome or fatiguing to the ears.
