Elon Musk concedes that Project X might face the risk of failure due to various factors, as predicted by many.

Elon Musk shared on his personal page X (Twitter) that the $44 billion deal to acquire Twitter could potentially fail, as many have predicted. However, he also affirmed that he would do his utmost to create a successful social network.

Musk has taken various measures to transform X into a “super app.” One of them is pushing for a thorough refinement of chatbots; however, this effort has not yet yielded significant results. Just last week, Matt Binder, a technology expert from Mashable, discovered that 42% of Musk’s followers might not be genuine accounts, potentially operated by bots.

Changpeng Zhao, CEO of Binance and one of Musk’s partners in the Twitter deal, stated that X needs to initially address issues related to bots and spam. He also suggested that his company might explore alternative platforms to engage users.

Since acquiring Twitter for $44 billion last year, Musk has taken numerous bold actions to overhaul this social network, including lifting several previous bans, rebranding the platform as X, laying off a significant portion of the staff, and most recently, removing the feature that allows users to block others on the platform.

Blocking unwanted accounts is one of the features that help users safeguard themselves from spam and avoid hostile, harassing, and harmful content. Louis Jones, a communication and advertising expert at the Brand Safety Institute, noted that Musk’s move could have dual effects, potentially making bullying more prevalent on the platform and impeding the community’s freedom of speech. He believes this could lead to a cycle of missteps and negatively impact X’s long-term success.
