In the financial report for the second quarter of 2023, Intel’s CEO Pat Gelsinger announced that they will be incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) technology into every product under their auspices.

Pat Gelsinger believes that in the future, all types of AI applications will become more widespread, and compared to the current situation where many AI processes rely on cloud-based collaborative computing, there will be more devices based on efficient edge computing and individual privacy. AI computing needs to be perfected at the device level.

Furthermore, Pat Gelsinger hopes that artificial intelligence will become more prevalent and drive the development of many edge computing applications.

Earlier, Intel had announced that they would integrate Vision Processing Units (VPUs) into their upcoming processor product codenamed “Meteor Lake” to enhance the computational power of neural networks. This will also be Intel’s first consumer-level processor combining AI computing.

Before implementing this design, companies in the industry, including Qualcomm and Apple, had already integrated AI computing capabilities into their processor products.

In Intel financial report for the second quarter of 2023, they disclosed that the previous quarter’s revenue reached $12.9 billion, a 15% decrease compared to the same period last year, with a net income of $1.5 billion. The company emphasized that both revenue and net profit exceeded their initial expectations, and they will focus more on improving technology process development, product design, and foundry services. Additionally, analysts predict that Intel revenue in the third quarter of 2023 will be in the range of $12.9 billion to $13.9 billion.
