At the WWDC 2023 event, Apple proved the accuracy of the leaked rumors by announcing the Vision Pro – a head-mounted display that brings mixed reality (MR) experience to users. With a price tag that is far from modest – precisely $3,499.

Looking at what the Vision Pro brings, it’s certain that affluent and tech-savvy users will immediately acquire the latest product from Apple. Setting aside hardware specifications and product design details for now, let’s take a look at some unique features that Vision Pro users can enjoy.

By using eye-tracking to select applications, hand gestures, and voice commands to control the glasses, users will no longer need to hold an iPhone in their hands to interact with the Apple ecosystem

Vision Pro is part of the Apple ecosystem, which means the device seamlessly connects with users’ iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks.

The ability to replace a TV is perhaps the most valuable aspect of the Vision Pro. Users have a virtual “TV on their heads,” and what’s even more special is that they can decide the size of this TV entirely according to their preference.

Vision Pro can create a customized virtual reality space that immerses users in content in a way that few devices can achieve. It allows users to immerse themselves in the presented content in a manner that is unparalleled by many other devices.

Apple has developed its own OLED display system specifically for the Vision Pro, cramming 16 pixels into an area equivalent to one pixel on an iPhone. In total, the Vision Pro has a staggering 23 million pixels, and each of the user’s eyes will experience more pixels than a 4K TV can offer.

And a TV experience wouldn’t be complete without a realistic sound system accompanying it.

In addition to the advanced sound system that is directed straight to the user’s ears, the audio sensors using audio ray-tracing technology can analyze the materials around the Vision Pro and produce the most realistic surrounding sound.

Vision Pro boasts two exclusive Apple chips: the M2 chip to power the visionOS of the Vision Pro, handling image and graphics algorithms, and the R1 chip to process input signals from sensors, cameras, microphones, and transmit visuals to the glasses. The advanced processing power will make Vision Pro the new “hub” device in your home, immediately replacing tablets and even TVs.

Clearly, Apple will not stop at this product. In the distant future, users will witness even more advanced versions of the Vision Pro glasses, utilizing powerful new chips, enhanced sound and image technologies, and… at higher prices. We have reasons to anticipate a revolution in the field of Extended Reality (XR) – Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR), and Extended Reality (XR).

That revolution might very well start with the Vision Pro.
