Xiaomi 13 Ultra official: Featuring 1-Inch Camera, Leica Lens with Multiple Apertures, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra stands as Xiaomi’s latest and most advanced flagship model to date.

After numerous rumors and leaks, Xiaomi has recently introduced the Xiaomi 13 Ultra to users. This device is equipped with the latest hardware, from design, performance to camera.

The exterior of the 13 Ultra is improved based on the predecessor Xiaomi 12S Ultra. The device has a back panel finished with high-tech silicon leather material that is antibacterial up to 99%. The back of the 13 Ultra stands out with a large and quite thick camera system. It is known that the device is 9.1mm thick and weighs 227 grams.

Xiaomi has equipped the 13 Ultra with a 6.73-inch LTPO3 AMOLED display on the front, featuring QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. This curved edge-to-edge screen has a centrally placed 32MP “dot” selfie camera and an integrated optical fingerprint sensor beneath it.

About Camera

As for the camera, this is where Xiaomi has really outdone itself with its latest flagship model. The 13 Ultra is equipped with a quad-camera setup, all boasting 50MP resolution. The wide-angle camera has a 23mm lens with multiple apertures that can be changed from f/1.9 to f/4.0, using a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor. Other cameras include a 12mm ultra-wide, 75mm 3.2X telephoto, and 120mm 5X periscope telephoto camera.

Of course, the camera system has been finely tuned by Leica and equipped with Leica’s signature shooting modes and color filters. Additionally, Xiaomi has incorporated the ability to capture 50MP UltraRAW photos, allowing for DNG photos at 14-bit RAW with the most detail preserved. Xiaomi has stated that they are working with Adobe to release a dedicated camera profile for the Xiaomi’s phone.

In addition, Xiaomi has integrated a new mode called Fast Shot, which allows users to shorten the focus time when taking photos by fixing the focus range in advance, resulting in a photo in just 0.8 seconds.

In terms of performance

Xiaomi 13 Ultra comes with the most powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage using the UFS 4.0 standard.

The device has a 5000mAh battery, supports fast wired charging of 90W and wireless charging of 50W, using the Xiaomi Surge P2 and Surge G1 chips to manage the battery and charging.

13 Ultra was released for sale on April 21

Xiaomi has launched the phone in the Chinese market, which comes in three colors: black, blue, and white. The device is priced starting from 5,999 CNY, approximately $869 USD, and was released for sale on April 21.
