Galaxy Z Flip5, Samsung’s compact foldable phone, has surfaced with a larger external screen and is expected to run applications.

The image, allegedly of the Galaxy Z Flip5, shared by the Twitter account Tech_Reve, indicates that Samsung may bring significant improvements to the Z Flip series after three years since its initial launch.

In the picture, the device is protected by a case to avoid design leaks, but it still reveals a large square-shaped external screen, setting it apart from its predecessors, the three previous Z Flip models, which were equipped with a small 1.9-inch screen next to the camera.

This information aligns with previous rumors about the Z Flip5, stating that Samsung may equip the device with a 3.4-inch AMOLED display and a resolution of 720 x 748 pixels. The company might also utilize this larger screen to enable users to interact with certain optimized applications such as Google Maps and YouTube.

The main camera setup of the device remains dual with a flash, but it has been redesigned to accommodate the screen position. It will retain the same specifications as its predecessor, featuring a standard lens and an ultra-wide lens, both with a resolution of 12 megapixels. Additionally, the power button is recessed and larger, potentially integrating a fingerprint sensor.

The Galaxy Z Flip5 is expected to be unveiled alongside the Z Fold5 at the Unpacked event in South Korea at the end of July. The device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, with 8 GB of RAM, and will have an IP58 dust and water resistance rating.
